Those wishing to upgrade from a point & shoot digital or those wishing to improve upon their first generation digital SLRs, the Rebel Xti is where your search stops. Compared to the Sony A100 and Nikon D80, the XTi is considerably smaller, and somewhat lighter however functionally, the rear LCD is not as nice as the Sony's.
One drawback with the XTi is that it has no in camera stabilization like the A100 and buyers will need to purchase expensive lenses to get the anti-shake. Still compared to the A100 and D80, the XTi is cheaper which finally swings its way. A highly recommended SLR.
