The XT is the precursor to the more advanced XTi, still it packs quite a punch as one of Canon’s entry level digital SLR cameras. As a successor to the original DR this one feels professional, not toy-like at all. The XT’s image quality is excellent, both with and without flash as it uses a different CMOS sensor from the original DR.
The lens is somewhat inadequate and you would do well to get a better lens, coming to the speed part, the XT is fast and you don’t require to wait ages before you can start shooting. The other downside in this otherwise excellent camera is the light batteries meaning you have to carry an extra pair to last the day.
Recommended for entry-level SLR enthusiasts.
