The E-410 is small, in fact very small, light and has all the basic features most people want or need in a SLR. As with all small SLRs the battery performance is less than adequate for extended outings , additionally, the magnification inside the viewfinder is less, making manual focusing (or seeing fine detail) a bit more difficult.
The E-410 comes with the 4/3 system i.e. interchangeable lenses which mean significant savings on costly lenses. However, for most beginners, the two lenses offered in this kit will be all they need.
The Live View feature isn’t as handy as it seems, you loose auto focusing (because the AF mirror system must be moved out of the way).
Overall, a very good small digital SLR.
