The A200 is Sony’s new entry-level DSLR, and the base upon which other models build on so you pretty much know what you can expect.
As compared to the A100, the A200 takes the same sensor and body, but adds Live View and mounts the screen on a vertically tiltable platform. The Alpha A200 has superior ISO performance than its rival the Canon 400D, also features good built-in stabilization which looks good even against it’s another rival the Nikon D60.
The built-in anti-shake works with any lens which is a real money saver, the Info Lithium batter gives accurate feedback as in other Sony models and the 18-70 mm kit lens can reach longer than most rivals. However the downside is that the A200 is relatively noisy at 800 ISO and above, it has no separate Live View and also the Anti-dust isn’t that great either.
Still if you are looking for an entry-level DSLR and want to continue with Sony DSLRs in the future it’s worth the dough.
